InDesign Exercise 1: 4 Page Mailer
Due Date: September 14/Week 3
Concept
Create a mailer (with four pages: address page, front cover, interior facing pages) that includes placed graphics and text as well as InDesign created graphics and text. The subject of the mailer is your choice. You may use 'Lorem Ipsum'* text as placed text.

Steps/Requirements:
Layout:
1. Begin a new InDesign document that has four (facing pages) [File/New/Document or Command N]
2. Select your page size based on your concept.
3. Set up a Master Page with at least one item that will occur on three pages.
4. Make use of rulers and guides for a grid layout and placement.
5. Place a graphic across the inner page spread (p2&p3).
Type:
1. Import/place block(s) of text.
2. Create text in InDesign.
3. Make use of Character Style(s).
Graphics:
1. Import Photoshop file.
2. Import Illustrator file.
3. Create basic graphics in InDesign.
Final Submitals:
1. Print B&W proof of Mailer.
2. Save as InDesign file AND as an Adobe Acrobat PDF file.
3. Post Mailer on your Blog:
From InDesign Export as a JPEG from FILE Menu. Select all pages and "check" Spread. A separate JPEG is created for each page with P2&3 being one page, the spread.

To learm how to set up a multi-page document and use master pages.
To learn how to place text and graphics.
